01:00 AM to 12:59 AM CST

8 IAC 1300.310(E) states, in part, “A license shall be surrendered to the Department upon written notice and demand if the Craft Grower fails to begin production within 6 months after the license has been issued.”

As previously announced, due to a number of factors, the operational deadline for Craft Growers awarded an initial license with effective dates August 1, 2021 – July 31, 2022 was extended to February 1, 2024 and will now be extended to August 1, 2024.

Similarly, the operational deadline for Craft Growers awarded an initial license with effective dates June 1, 2022 – May 31, 2023 were extended to December 1, 2024 and will now be extended to June 1, 2025.

This will be the FINAL universal deadline extension.

Moving forward craft growers may apply to the Department in writing for an individual extension upon good cause shown. Under 8 IAC 1300.310(E), good cause “may include unforeseen events, acts of nature and other events that prevent a good faith effort. Good cause shall not include cost overruns, insufficient financing and other factors evidencing a lack of good faith effort.”

Licensees should be aware that additional extensions to the operational deadline may not be granted, and the Department retains the authority to adhere to the deadlines reflected above.
