Licensing and Administration

The Department of Agriculture is tasked with licensing and regulating cultivation centers, cannabis craft growers, cannabis infusers, cannabis transporters, and Community College Cannabis Vocational Pilot Programs. Cannabis Inspection

The Bureau of Cannabis Inspections is responsible for inspecting all cannabis businesses, including cultivation centers, craft growers, infusers, and transporters, operating in the state of Illinois. The inspection process is a continuous assessment of regulatory compliance, including pre-operational, routine, and specialty/investigative facility inspections.

Reference Lab

The Division of Cannabis Regulation has created the Bureau of Cannabis Testing (BCT) to ensure the safety of cannabis products sold to the citizens in the state of Illinois. State of Illinois Cannabis Reference Laboratory will be ensuring the accuracy and reliability of safety testing and potency data on the product labels.
