Adult Use Cannabis Application Review Complete

On June 2, the Department sent the final administrative decision to all remaining craft grower applications. Licenses were awarded to 48 applicants. The review and scoring process for all adult use cannabis applications for craft growers, infusers, and transporters that submitted applications in 2020 is now complete. The list of awardees can be found here.

The Department received more than 450 applications for craft growers, more than 110 for infusers, and more than 250 for transporters. All applications had to meet all requirements in the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act and the Department's administrative rules. Due to the limitations on number of licenses to be issued, not all applicants that met the requirements are eligible to receive a license. Licenses must go to top scoring applicants, pursuant to 8 IAC 1300.315(a).

On June 7, 2022, the Department sent Score Information notices to the primary and secondary contacts of all applications submitted in 2020. These notices are informational only and do not alter any final administrative decision of the Department. If you are an applicant and did not receive this email, please check your spam or junk mail folders. The email was sent from AGR.AdultUse@illinois.gov. If you still cannot locate the email, you may contact the Division of Cannabis Regulation directly to request the score information associated with your application. The request should be sent to AGR.AdultUse@illinois.gov with the subject line "Application Score Information Request" and your 4 digit application ID. The request must come from the primary or secondary contact identified on the application. The Department will not provide scoring information about any application to any entity except the applicant, consistent with the confidentiality provisions of the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act. 

CLARIFICATION: Although "Craft Grower Application – Final Administrative Decision" notices were dated June 1, 2022, they were actually postmarked and mailed June 2, 2022. Therefore, applicants that wish to seek judicial review of this Final Administrative Decision have until July 7, 2022, to file a claim for review as provided in the Administrative Review Law, which is 35 days from the Final Administrative Decision.
