TWO ADDITIONAL CULTIVATION CENTERS APPROVED FOR ADULT-USE GROWING AS DEADLINE APPROACHES

SPRINGFIELD, IL -The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) has approved two more cultivation centers to grow cannabis for adult-use which becomes legal in Illinois on January 1, 2020.
 
IESO, LLC in Carbondale and GTI Oglesby, LLC in Oglesby applied for and are now approved to grow cannabis for adult-use bringing the number of cultivation centers in Illinois to 14.  Currently, only cultivation centers licensed to grow medical marijuana can apply for early approval adult-use growth. Social equity applicants will have additional opportunities to apply for cultivation center licenses in an upcoming phase.

"The addition of two more cultivation centers to grow for adult-use leaves seven early approval cultivation licenses available," said Jeff Cox, IDOA Bureau Chief of Medicinal Plants. "The deadline for cultivation centers to apply to grow for adult-use is December 23rd, so we expect more licenses to be issued in coming weeks."

In addition to IESO, LLC and GTI Oglesby, LLC, 12 other cultivation centers have been licensed for adult-use growth:

• Cresco Labs, LLC- Kankakee
• Cresco Labs, LLC- Joliet
• Curative Health Cultivation, LLC- Aurora
• PharmaCann, LLC- Dwight
• PharmaCann, LLC- Hillcrest
• Revolution Cannabis, LLC (DBA Ascend Illinois)- Barry
• Wellness Group Pharms, LLC- Anna
• GTI Rock Island, LLC- Rock Island
• Compass Ventures, Inc.- Litchfield
• Nature's Grace and Wellness, LLC- Vermont
• Revolution Cannabis, LLC- Delavan

Adult-use cannabis license applications for craft growers, infusers and transporters will be available through the IDOA beginning on January 7, 2020 with an application deadline of March 15, 2020.
